SSDC09 – Beleshwar, Chamiyala, Tehri Garhwal

For many women and young individuals living in Beleshwar, Chamiyala, Tehri Garhwal, opportunities for women’s empowerment through skill development and economic participation remained limited. Without accessible training facilities and support systems, many women were unable to build practical skills, achieve financial independence, or actively contribute to decision-making within their households and communities.

Recognizing the importance of accessible skill-based education, Samoon Foundation inaugurated SSDC-09 (Samoon Skill Development Centre-09) in Beleshwar, Chamiyala on 03 May 2024. Guided by Centre Trainer Ms. Sheela Tiwari and coordinated by Mr. Vikram Shah, the centre introduced structured vocational and technical training designed to meet local employment needs. Through focused efforts on women empowerment, the initiative created a supportive environment where women could build practical skills, gain confidence, and take meaningful steps toward financial independence and self-reliance. The first phase of the programme was successfully completed on 03 September 2024

The programme successfully benefited 40 women who completed the training, equipping them with valuable vocational knowledge and practical skills. Beyond technical learning, the initiative played a significant role in empowering them by boosting their confidence, encouraging financial independence, and enabling them to actively contribute to their households and communities.—The establishment of SSDC-09 reflects the transformative role of accessible vocational education in strengthening rural communities. By equipping individuals with practical skills and encouraging self-reliance, the initiative has opened new pathways for economic participation, women empowerment, and sustainable community development, creating opportunities that extend far beyond the classroom.
