SSDC01 – Tudangi, Devprayag

In the rural village of Tudangi, Devprayag, many women had limited opportunities to learn new skills and earn a sustainable livelihood. Due to the lack of accessible vocational training facilities, they often faced challenges in becoming financially independent and contributing more actively to their families’ economic well-being.

Recognizing this need, the Samoon Foundation established SSDC-01 (Samoon Skills Development Centre-01) in Tudangi, Devprayag. Inaugurated on 08 September 2019, it became the Foundation’s first skill development initiative dedicated to women empowerment. Under the guidance of Centre Trainer Ms. Sheela, women received vocational and life-skills training designed to enhance their capabilities, confidence, and self-reliance. The first phase of the centre was successfully completed on 13 February 2020.

The initiative directly benefited 35 women, providing them with valuable skills and new opportunities for personal and economic growth. The training helped participants build confidence, become more self-reliant, and take meaningful steps towards improving their livelihoods and supporting their families.

More than just a training centre, Tudangi Centre became a platform for hope, learning, and empowerment. As the Samoon Foundation’s first skill development initiative, it demonstrated how access to the right opportunities can transform lives and pave the way for stronger, more resilient communities.
