In the rural region of Gram Panchayat Pangariyana, Patti Hindav, Block Bhilangana, Tehri Garhwal, Uttarakhand, women and girls faced significant challenges due to limited access to structured vocational training opportunities. This gap in local skill development restricted their ability to acquire practical skills, pursue self-employment, and contribute meaningfully to the economic well-being of their families and community.

With the objective of empowering rural women through skill-based education, Samoon Foundation inaugurated SSDC-15 (Samoon Skill Development Centre-15) in Gram Panchayat Pangariyana on 06 February 2026. The inauguration was led by Chief Guest Shri Vikram Ghanata, District Panchayat Member, Hindav, in the esteemed presence of Smt. Krishna Devi (Gram Pradhan, Pangariyana), Smt. Vinita Devi, Smt. Pushpa Devi, Kumari Sachina Jaiswal, Shri Sandeep Arya, Shri Kedar Singh Negi, Shri Fate Singh Rana, and several public representatives, social workers, and community members. Under the coordination of Shri Vikram Shah Ji, and with the dedicated support of Centre Trainer Dabal Singh, the centre began offering free sewing and vocational skill training, creating new opportunities for women and girls to develop practical skills and move towards self-employment.

The programme is currently benefiting more than 50 women and girls, providing them with practical sewing and vocational skills while strengthening their confidence and economic independence. As the training continues, participants are developing the knowledge and capabilities required to generate sustainable livelihoods and improve the financial well-being of their families.

SSDC-15 has emerged as a meaningful initiative for promoting women empowerment and sustainable rural development in Pangariyana. By bringing free skill-based education closer to rural communities, the centre continues to inspire confidence, encourage self-reliance, and create lasting opportunities for women and girls to build brighter and more secure futures.
