Samoon Skill Development Centre (SSDC13) was inaugurated in Osla village, Uttarkashi district as part of Samoon Foundation’s ongoing mission to uplift rural communities through education and skill training. Launched on 10th April 2025, the center is focused on empowering local women and girls by providing free training in sewing and knitting.

Equipped with 7 sewing machines, SSDC13 aims to make women self-reliant and capable of contributing financially to their households. This initiative complements the Foundation’s existing efforts through Samoon Adarsh Vidyalaya, which provides free education, uniforms, and stationery to children in Osla and Pavani.

The center was inaugurated in the presence of School Coordinator Vijaypal Rana, Parent Committee President Khajan Singh, and the Samoon Foundation team. It is also part of the village adoption campaign launched by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, with Mr. Vinod Jethuri adopting Osla to lead its development.

The community has warmly welcomed this step, seeing it as a pathway to economic empowerment, women’s leadership, and sustainable village progress.
