Samoon Skill Development Centre (SSDC14) was inaugurated in Kordi village, Tehri Garhwal district as part of Samoon Foundation’s continuous effort to empower rural women through skill-based education. Launched on 1st June 2024, the center offers free training in sewing and tailoring to local women and girls.
Equipped with modern sewing machines, SSDC14 aims to make women self-reliant and financially independent, enabling them to contribute to their families and communities. This initiative aligns with the Foundation’s broader work in education, health, women’s empowerment, and digital literacy across Uttarakhand.
The inauguration was attended by Samoon Foundation representatives including Centre Trainer Mr. Vikram Shah, local dignitaries, and community members. The center also received significant support from senior member Mr. Ramesh Inder Datt Naithani, whose contribution helped bring this center to life.
The villagers have warmly embraced this new opportunity, viewing it as a crucial step toward women’s empowerment and sustainable rural development.
